Jay Allen Racing Lands Six Land Speed Records for 2016!
With six land speed records for the year of 2016, Jay Allen of Jay Allen Racing has amassed 33 records in his racing career and he’s not done yet. Jay says, “Thank you to all who made it possible.”
What a Year! My land speed racing family is the “Cream of the Crop” and it’s a pleasure working with them all. If it wasn’t for the genius and hard work by Chris Rivas V Twin, my lightening fast turbo Dyna wouldn’…t have set four records in its first 12 passes! Unbelievable! Lord willing, this bad-ass bike will usher me past the 200+ mph mark for the first time and its an American V Twin! The biggest challenge will be doing it on the raw bike with zero streamlining, then add a super slippery body from the Man, Mr. Ralph Hudson, and this turbo-charged V-Twin will be barking at the 220 – 230+ mph door! You can’t tell we’re already excited about 2017, can you?
Then there’s the legendary S&S powered 120” with a D Carb FXR that has a heart as big as Texas! Each year with land speed records setting a higher bar, our Lil’ Girl still knocked down two records and next year she will be tapping on the 180+ mph door as a stripped-to-the-bone bike. From the planners to the volunteers in the SCTA and the AMA, thank you for such well run events and keeping myself and all the racers safe. For the people I consider the “meat and potatoes” that got Jay Allen Racing into the record books, I salute you, Tony Mathhues, Jeff Lange, Chris Rivas, Kristi Verhoff, Alex Wolf, Jill and Dave Iversen, Bonnie Mathhues and everyone else that loaned us tools, spark plugs, lubricants and a whole lot of support!
